Ocean Waves Scarf

This pattern creates a lovely scarf with eyecatching eyelets, making it textured like the waves on the ocean! The pattern is created using the 4-row eyelet mock cable stitch repeat, with ribbing on each edge. This pattern is written in such a way that it can be created to any desired length. The pattern can be adjusted to be wider altering the cast on amount as long as the cast on is a multiple of 5 plus 2.

Main Body

To create the aesthetic of waves use eyelet mock cable stitch for the body of the scarf. This is created using a 4 row repeat:

Row 1.
(RS) P2 *sl1, k2, psso the 2 kt sts, p2; repeat from * to end of row
Row 2.
(WS) K2 *p1, yo, p1, k2; repeat from * to end of row
Row 3.
P2 *k2, p2; repeat from * to end of row
Row 4.
K2 *p3, k2; repeat from * to end of row

Continue this 4 row repeat until the desired length is reached, suggested 36" (child) or 70" (adult).

Finishing

Repeat twisted ribbing.

Weave in ends and create tassels from scrap yarn if desired and enjoy wearing your beautiful eye-catching scarf!
